Overall goal


Die OEZA hat während der letzten 15 Jahre Initiativen im Gesundheitssektor der Autonomen Atlantikregion Nord (RAAN) in Nicaragua gefördert. Seit 2005 wurde der integrale Gesundheitsansatz, der auch die Pflege und Weiterentwicklung der traditionellen Medizin beinhaltet, durch Maßnahmen zur Vorbeugung und Behandlung von HIV/Aids ergänzt.


Ziel des Projekts ist die Verbesserung der medizin. Grundversorgung für die Bevölkerung in Prinzapolka, dem entlegensten und ärmsten Gemeindebezirk der RAAN, inkl. HIV/Aids-Betreuung in Puerto Cabezas und Bluefields, den grössten urbanen Zentren und Hafenstädten der Karibikregionen Nicaraguas mit den höchsten Infektionsraten. Dadurch soll ein Beitrag zur Erreichung der Millenniumsentwicklungsziele 4, 5A, 5B und 6B geleistet werden.


Erwartete Resultate sind:

1.1) Verbesserte Betreuung von Mutter und Kind

1.2) Lokale Gesundheitsbehörden von Prinzapolka, Dos Amigos, Alamikamban y Silibila sind in ihren Managementkapazitäten gestärkt

1.3) Bessere medizinische Grundversorgung durch die 4 neuen Gesundheitszentren

2.1) HIV-PatientInnen in Bluefields und Puerto Cabezas sind ihrer Betreuung adhärent und nehmen bewusst und langfristig ihre Medikamente

2.2) Der Bevölkerung in Bluefields und Puerto Cabezas wurden umfassende Präventionsmaßnahmen angeboten


Zu den wichtigsten Maßnahmen gehören Schulungen von Gesundheitspersonal, Kapazitätsentwicklung der regionalen Gesundh.strukturen, Unterstützung von Präventionsmaßnahmen, Ausrüstung von vier neuen Gesundh.zentren, Sicherung von adäquater Medikamentenversorgung, Unterstützung der vierteljährl. Besuche der mobilen Gesundh.brigaden in entlegenen ländlichen Gebieten.


Folgende Zielgruppen werden direkt begünstigt: 29.700 Personen, u.a. EinwohnerInnen von Prinzapolka, HIV-positive Menschen beider Atlantikregionen RAAN und RAAS, Gesundh.personal, traditionelle HeilerInnen u. Hebammen, SozialarbeiterInnen, MitarbeiterInnen von Gemeindeverwaltungen, Gesundheitsinstanzen u. Aids-Kommissionen.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.

  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
