Overall goal


Ziel der von MIRIAM geförderten Vorhaben ist es, Frauen aus benachteiligten Bevölkerungsschichten, die sozial engagiert sind und einen positiven Leistungsnachweis erbringen, bei der Absolvierung ihrer Ausbildung mittels eines Stipendiums zu unterstützen. Bei der Durchführung von Projekten wird Aus- und Weiterbildungsmaßnahmen besonderes Gewicht beigemessen und als wesentlicher Ansatz für positive Veränderung gesehen. MIRIAM fördert fachliche Kompetenz, Unabhängigkeit, Mündigkeit, Selbstbewusstsein und damit auch Verantwortung und gesellschaftliches Engagement von Frauen.


Bei allen Vorhaben handelt es sich um integrierte Maßnahmen zur Frauenförderung in vorwiegend ländlichen Gebieten, wobei das Oberziel in der Förderung von gleichberechtigten Beziehungen zwischen Frauen und Männern in persönlicher und sozialer Hinsicht mit dem Ziel der Verringerung bzw. Prävention von Gewalt und Sexismus besteht. Außerdem leisten die von MIRIAM durchgeführten Aus- und Weiterbildungsmaßnahmen einen wichtigen Beitrag zur Armutsbekämpfung bzw. nachhaltigen Entwicklung der geförderten Frauengruppen.


Verbindung zu Projekt:

MIRIAM hat während der vergangenen drei Jahre eine Finanzierung von jährlich EUR 130.000 über ein Rahmenabkommen erhalten, wird daher erstmals aus dem Budget Regionale Programme Zentralamerika finanziert.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
