Overall goal


Im gegenständlichen Vorhaben werden bis auf die AIDS-Vorsorge und Betreuungsaktivitäten sämtliche Komponenten des bisherigen Projektes weiterhin finanziert werden. Das im Rahmen des Vorprojekts entwickelte AIDS-Vorhaben für die Karibikregion sprengt den Rahmen der bisher durchgeführten Arbeit und wird ab 04 als eigenständiges Programm (vorerst mit Finanzierung durch das britische Entwicklungsministerium DFID) abgewickelt. Die dadurch frei werdenden Mittel werden zugunsten der Intensivierung der Gesundheitsarbeit im Bezirk Bonanza und Gebiet Alamikamban eingesetzt, da in Zukunft dem Schwerpunkt Arbeit mit indigenen Völkern auch in Nicaragua mehr Aufmerksamkeit beigemessen werden soll.Die aktuelle Phase des Programms wird einerseits zur weiteren Erhöhung der Effizienz des Gesundheitssystems in der RAAN beitragen und eine den lokalen Gegebenheiten angepasste Organisation schaffen (Modernisierung des Gesundheitssystems), womit der zumeist indigenen Bevölkerung eine adäquate Gesundheitsversorgung ermöglicht werden soll. Andererseits sollen die Initiativen der zivilen Gesellschaft weiterhin gefördert werden, wobei die Erhaltung der aktiven sozialen Partizipation im Vordergrund steht. Schwerpunkte der künftigen Arbeit sind die Weiterentwicklung eines modernen, dezentral verwalteten, den Autonomiestatuten entsprechenden Gesundheitssystems, die Implementierung eines endogenen Gesundheitsmodells für die zur Mayangna-Ethnie gehörenden Gemeinden, die Weiterentwicklung der integralen Gesundheitsbetreuung der ländlichen Bevölkerung unter besonderer Berücksichtigung vorbeugender Maßnahmen und der Förderung gesunden Lebens sowie die Förderung traditioneller Heilmethoden.Die intersektorielle Koordination, das Bemühen um eine effektive soziale Partizipation, ein querschnittsmäßig alle Programmkomponenten umfassender Genderansatz und die Berücksichtigung der jeweiligen kulturellen Eigenheiten der Zielbevölkerung sollen nicht nur für einen effizienten Mitteleinsatz sorgen, sondern auch
