Overall goal


Die Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation (EEPCO) ist das verstaatlichte Energieversorgungsunternehmen Äthiopiens. Zu den Aufgaben gehören sowohl die Erzeugung des Stroms, als auch die Verteilung über das Netz, die Versorgung der Kunden und der Verkauf der elektrischen Energie. Das Unternehmen hat die Verpflichtung in einem für Äthiopien wichtigen Sektor effiziente Versorgungsleistungen zu erbringen. Dies kann gegenüber den Abnehmern nicht immer gewährleistet werden, Stromausfälle sind trotz einer im Großen und Ganzen ausreichenden Kapazität häufig. Ein determinierender Faktor für das Erbringen einer standardisierten und qualitätsvollen Leistung ist das Vorhandensein ausreichend ausgebildeter Fachkräfte. Fortbildung ist insbesondere im Bereich der Computer basierten Applikationen nötig.


Mit dem vorliegenden Projekt soll aufbauend auf das Ausbildungsprogramm im Energiesektor in den Jahren 2000 bis 2002 auf einen spezifischen und dringenden Bedarf von EEPCO geantwortet werden.


In einem 2-wöchigen Kurs vor Ort (EEPCO stellt ihr Trainingszentrum zur Verfügung) soll äthiopischen Technikern (10 bis max. 20 ausgewählte Teilnehmer) sowohl ein Überblick über den theoretischen Hintergrund für ein zeitgemäßes Power System Planning sowie die Analyse der Faktoren vermittelt als auch der praktische Umgang mit spezifischer Software geübt werden.


Auf Grund der vorliegenden Erfahrungen in diesem Bereich sowie mit Capacity Building in Äthiopien wird die Verbundplan GmbH. mit der Ausarbeitung und Abhaltung des Trainingskurses in Addis Abeba im Februar 2005 beauftragt.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
