Overall goal


Die etwa 734.000 IndianerInnen Brasiliens, die 236 verschiedenen indigenen Völkern angehören, stellen eine Minderheit dar, deren Lebensbedingungen schlecht sind und deren Armutsindikatoren weit unter dem Durchschnitt liegen, auch wenn ihnen in der Verfassung von 1988 das Recht auf Land und kulturelle Eigenständigkeit zugesichert wurde.


Oberziel des Projekts ist es, zur Reduktion der Armut bei den indigenen Völkern Brasiliens beizutragen, indem ihre Rechte gestärkt und ihre soziale, wirtschaftliche und kulturelle Nachhaltigkeit gefördert wird. Das Projektziel ist eine nachhaltige Verbesserung der Lebensbedingungen der indigenen Völker Brasiliens, mittels konkreter Fortschritte in den Bereichen Landrechte, Autonomie und Unterstützung durch die brasilianische Gesellschaft. Dafür werden folgende Aktivitäten gesetzt: Verteidigung der Landrechte und anderer indigener Rechte, Ausbildung von indigenen VertreterInnen über ihre Rechte, wirtschaftliche Alternativen etc., Öffentlichkeitsarbeit und Lobbying. Die direkte Zielgruppe wird auf 100.000 IndianerInnen geschätzt. Durch die Ausbildung der Zielgruppe ist der Multiplikator-Effekt hoch. Durch die Aktivitäten der Öffentlichkeitsarbeit soll die Sympathie und Unterstützung für die indigenen Völker im eigenen Land erhöht werden. Das Projekt unterstützt auch eine bereits bestehende ständige Kampagne des Projektpartners, die ebenfalls Bewusstseinsbildung in der brasilianischen Gesellschaft leistet.


Einerseits werden die lokalen Kapazitäten durch die Ausbildung der Zielgruppe gestärkt. Andererseits werden auch die ProjektmitarbeiterInnen ständig fortgebildet, es wird 3 mal jährlich Ausbildungsworkshops der Projektverantwortlichen aus den verschiedenen Regionen geben.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
