Das Projekt wird von dem alternativen Kulturzentrum Stadtwerkstatt (STWST) in Linz durchgeführt und stellt eine Fortsetzung des Ke Nako Afrika-Projektes "Treffpunkt Afrika" dar, für das die STWST 2011 mit dem Förderpreis für integrative Kulturarbeit der Stadt Linz ausgezeichnet wurde.

Unter dem Motto "Survival of the Hippest" wird 2012 der Fokus des Festivals auf die kulturelle Avantgarde Afrikas gelegt. Dabei steht Afrika als Ideengeber im Mittelpunkt: Urbanität und urbane Kunst- und Kulturtechniken werden aufgezeigt; aktuelle Tendenzen in den Bereichen Streetart, junge Mode/Design, Contemporary Dance, Film, Musik, Literatur und New Media aufgegriffen. Das Festivalprogramm unter Mitwirkung von jungen afrikanischen KünstlerInnen und WissenschafterInnen umfasst mehrere Konzerte (Hip-Hop), ein Modeatelier (artist in residence) mit abschließender Modeschau, Breakdance-Shows und eine Filmreihe. Ein Symposium thematisiert moderne Kunst- und Kulturproduktion in urbanen afrikanischen Zentren vor dem Hintergrund aktueller gesellschaftlicher und politischer Herausforderungen. Austausch und Vernetzung mit der lokalen Linzer Kunst-, Kultur- und Jugendszene ist geplant. Informations- und Medienarbeit begleiten die Aktionen. Dialoggruppen sind primär junge Menschen, ein kunst-/kulturinteressiertes Publikum, afrikanische communities aus/um Linz sowie die Gäste aus Afrika.


Das Projekt wird aus OEZA-Mitteln in der Höhe von Euro 10.000,- (49,50% des Gesamtprojektvolumens) gefördert.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.

  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries.
