Die Neue Galerie Graz am Landesmuseum Joanneum wird im Rahmen des "steirischen herbst 2007" die Ausstellung "UN/FAIR TRADE - Vom (un)gerechten Tausch" zeigen. Ziel ist die Forcierung eines "FairTrade"-Diskurses, in dem es um einen Perspektivenwechsel in der allgemeinen Globalisierungsdebatte zum Thema Wirtschaft/Handel geht: "Fair Trade" soll umgedeutet werden - weg vom vermeintlichen sozialen Nischenprogramm mit Entwick-lungsländern, hin zu einer ökonomischen Grundthematik weltweit. Das Phänomen des gerechten Tausches wird im Projekt zum Herzstück einer gelingenden Ökonomie - zum trendigen "Mega-Thema" - gemacht.

Die multimediale Ausstellung umfasst Werke von rund 80 KünstlerInnen aus aller Welt in Fotografie, Film, Video; in Text und Bild; weiters Objekte, Installationen, Projektionen und Aktionen. Die künstlerische Kuratierung der Ausstellung erfolgt durch Peter Weibel, der zu den namhafteren, im internationalen Kunstbetrieb tätigen Persönlichkeiten Österreichs zählt. Zusätzlich wird intensiv Theoriearbeit betrieben, in die SpitzenökonomInnen und -publizistInnen einbezogen werden. Ein Rahmenprogramm bietet neben Führungen, Vorträge und Diskussionen, Workshop für Studierende, Angebote für Kinder und Jugendliche sowie eine interaktive Weblog-Plattform. Zur Ausstellung erscheint ein umfangreicher zweisprachiger Katalog (dt/engl), der eine umfassende Materialsammlung, Essays, Interviews und hochkarätige wissenschaftliche Beiträge zum Thema "gerechter Tausch" enthält. Schließlich werden mehrere Medienkooperationen (Ö1-Radiokolleg; Der Standard u.a.) sowie Informationsarbeit das Projekt begleiten.


Das Projekt wird aus OEZA-Mitteln in der Höhe von EUR 35.000,- (10,14 % des Gesamtprojektvolumens von EUR 345.000,-) gefördert.
