Overall goal


Der alle zwei Jahre in der Hauptstadt Burkina Fasos stattfindende "Salon International de l'Artisanat de Ouagadougou (SIAO)" ist die größte Handwerksmesse in Westafrika und bietet insbesondere auch für lokale HandwerkerInnen eine Gelegenheit, ihre Vermarktung zu verbessern und internationale Kontakte zu knüpfen.


Ziel des gegenständlichen Projektes ist die aktive Teilnahme von Frauen an der Entwicklung des Handwerkssektors in Burkina Faso und die erfolgreiche Organisation und Durchführung der Handwerksmesse SIAO.


Das Projekt unterstützt die SIAO daher auf zwei Ebenen:

Einerseits werden 195 Handwerkerinnen aus den 13 Regionen des Landes zu Themen wie Unternehmensführung und Buchhaltung für Kleinbetriebe und Kommerzialisierungstechniken aus- bzw. fortgebildet, um die Teilnahme von Frauen an der Messe und im Handwerksektor allgemein zu fördern. Drei Handwerkerinnen werden darüber hinaus für besonders innovative Geschäftsideen mit Preisen ausgezeichnet, die ihnen als Förderung für den Auf- bzw. Ausbau ihrer Unternehmen dienen sollen. Andererseits fördert das Projekt das Angebot und die professionelle Durchführung der Messe selbst durch den Ankauf von zusätzlichen, robusten und langjährig verwendbaren Ausstellungsständen.


Die Förderung des Projekts ist Teil der Unterstützung der OEZA für das burkinische Ministerium für Handel, Unternehmen und Handwerk, unter dessen Fachaufsicht die Verwaltungsstruktur der SIAO als Einrichtung öffentlichen Rechts agiert.
