Ziel des Projekts ist es im Osten Indiens ein Ökosystem für eine moderne Wundbehandlung aufzubauen.


Expected results


Von der vorgeschlagenen Wirtschaftspartnerschaft werden ab dem Ende des zweiten Projektjahrs 300 PatientInnen pro Monat profitieren. 40 medizinische Fachleute werden ausgebildet und 4 Kliniken in Kalkutta/Westbengalen zur spezialisierten Wundbehandlung aufgebaut und ausgerüstet.


Target group / Beneficiaries


Antragsteller ist die Velocitas GmbH, Spezialistin für die Entwicklung von nachhaltigen Geschäftsmodellen im Bereich Gesundheit. Gemeinsam mit dem indischen Partner Dr. Shuvor Roy-Choudhury und MCS (Trainingsspezialist) wird die Einführung des innovativen Wundbehandlungsprodukts Altrazeal zum Anlass genommen, in das indische Gesundheitssystem zu investieren.


Activities


Dazu wird ein neuartiges Produkt am Markt eingeführt und zunächst in einer, im Projektverlauf in vier Kliniken

- Personal geschult,

- ein Trainingssystem entwickelt, das auf andere Kliniken übertragbar ist und

- ein IT-System zum effizienten Verfolg der Krankheitsverläufe geschaffen.


Context


Indien wurde als Markt mit riesigem Potenzial identifiziert, weil dort eine außergewöhnlich große Zahl an Menschen unter akuten und chronischen Wunden leidet: 70 Millionen DiabetikerInnen gehören zu den besonders gefährdeten Menschen, aber auch jene 20 % der Bevölkerung, die an einer chronischen venösen Erkrankung leiden. Dazu kommen noch 40.000 Amputationen monatlich!

  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
