Due to the ongoing need to support the recovery of agriculture and people’s livelihoods in the Balkans, in the aftermath of the devastating floods which hit the region in May 2014, ADA has decided to make available additional funding for the flood response.

Thus, the “Great Morava River Early Recovery and Resilience Project”, implemented by the Austrian Red Cross, is hereby awarded

an additional grant of EUR 100,000. The maximum amount of the total grant for this project thus is EUR 640,000.00.


The main aim of the project remains the support of 2.000 flood-affected and most vulnerable families in the Great Morava River Region with unconditional cash assistance and house repair kits in order to meet their basic shelter and livelihood needs.


With the additional funding it will be possible to meet urgent additional needs of 350 particularly vulnerable households, both from among the original target group of the ADC-project (municipalities of Pozarevac and Svilajnac, ADA Contract 2754-03/2014) as well as from the municipalities of Paracin and Trstenik, which are part of a similar project implemented by the AutRC and cofinanced by Neighbour in Need (NiN). These 350 households will be supported through a top-up cash assistance in the amount of € 260 per household and are selected in close collaboaration with the local Social Welfare Centers, and the social welfare recipients are selected based on the number of underage children, the monthly family income and special medical conditions of the household members. For all selected 350 beneficiary households, this top-up cash assistance serves as a complimentary support towards their recovery from the floods of May 2014.
