Projektziel

This project aims to support 110 vulnerable Syrian refugee families (approx. 400 persons), who have searched refuge in Armenia. It is in continuation of a similar intervention (ADC ref. no. 2732-00/2013) implemented from 1.10.2013 until 1.8.2014 and is being proposed due to the still increasing number of Syrian refugees. Most of the refugees live in Yerevan in extremely overcrowded and humiliating conditions and the support through this project aims to help them cope better with the severe winter conditions in Armenia.

With the upcoming winter the focus of the project is to support winterization efforts to enable vulnerable Syrian-Armenian refugees to access secure and healthy living conditions and to ensure their safety and well-being. The beneficiaries of this project are new arrivals in Armenia and extremely vulnerable families who arrived during the previous implementation period.

Through this intervention 110 families (or 440 persons) can be supported through the winter and will receive the following amounts on a monthly basis, all through a voucher system with selected vendors to ensure the families are able to cover needs that are not covered by other stakeholders and can decide on their own priority needs:

- vouchers in the amount of EUR 200,- per month per family for rent and utility costs,

- vouchers in the amount of EUR 100,- per month per family for food,

- vouchers in the amout of EUR 40,- for hygiene items;

- vouchers in the amount of EUR 50 for clothes.

Additionally, medical support (provision of medication) is offered to specific cases which are not covered through the Armenian government system.
