Projektziel

The Project aims at strengthening the position of women in the economy and labor market in Kosovo. It will focus on increased participation in the labor market by women from the regions of Prishtina and Ferizaj.

Erwartete Ergebnisse

Improved communication and cooperation with Kosovar institutions (public and private) will lead to an improved sustainability of measures;

300 women are equipped with vocational, soft and business skills & competencies needed for their employment and self-employment;

Job placement services are upgraded and have expanded in the Ferizaj region;

Women have access to resources and opportunities for finances;

10 new women entrepreneurs are placed in the Women Business Incubator and have benefited from the start-up and capacity development activities.

Zielgruppe

This project will benefit marginalized women and partially men, with a total of 400 direct beneficiaries in the regions of Prishtina and Ferizaj.

Maßnahmen

Main activities of the project are:

Conduct a Market Assessment with focus on the trends and needs on trainings & skills for employment;

Set up the Training, Job Placement and Resource Center within Kosova - Women 4 Women and enhance capacities;

Expand the Job placement service in the Ferizaj region;

Enhance vocational, soft & business skills for 300 women, including knowledge on access to finances;

Support individual women with small seed money as micro business capital or for internships;

Support individual or groups of women with grants;

Support 10 entrepreneurs with start-up and capacity development activities as part of an Incubator Program.

Hintergrundinformation

Challenges for women to join the economy and labor market include: missing skills (especially business or computer literacy); limited access to financial resources; and mismatch between skills, awareness and opportunities in the market. This project will address these obstacles and create opportunities for employment and self-employment markets (with a focus on women), and in this way contributing to international, regional and national strategies and policies.
