WP-PAK-OMV, Rising through education
Kurzbeschreibung:
Projektziel
The goal of this business partnership is to lay the groundwork for vocational training in fragile states. Two pilot projects will be established in Pakistan and Yemen and a concept and a structure for the planned strategic partnership will be set-up.
The first component contains a schooling program in Pakistan. About 1.080 children (540 girls and 540 boys) will have access to primary school education in a year. The proposed project will provide establishment cost for two primary and one secondary school. The project will also support teachers’ training and development program and the operational costs of two schools for the first five years. The operational cost for the remaining years will be managed by The Citizens Foundation (TCF) through its own funds that will be earned through fund raising schemes.
The second component of the proposed project is to carry out a baseline and needs assessment study in the field of vocational training in Yemen. Vocational training institutes will be identified and their capacity and competency will be assessed in the light of the industry’s needs in order to design a vocational training program that meets the requirement of the energy sector in general and of OMV in particular.
The third component of the proposed project will set the ground for OMV and ADA to form a strategic partnership which aims at scaling up local capacity building on vocational training in fragile states. The methods and activities should be harmonized and corresponding with local conditions. They should address the industry’s needs (oil and gas sector) and should be replicable to other countries and regions.
